I am absolutely delighted to offer you a very warm welcome to River House Academy, where an outstanding education has its roots in happiness, kindness and care. We are fortunate to be located in a beautiful campus in South Goa, just minutes from the beaches, ghats and wildlife that embody all the mystery, beauty and nature that Goa and India have to offer.
River House Academy is a purpose-built school, years in the making, that has grown organically from the needs and passions of our children, our teachers and our community. Large, wild open areas have been cleverly intertwined with locally-inspired buildings that seamlessly combine to form beautiful spaces – spacious, bright and engaging classrooms designed with the express purpose of creating a positive teaching and learning environment, as well as an exceptional outdoor space where children of all ages and abilities can play, explore and learn together.
At River House, we want our young people to grow and learn in an environment which inspires them to succeed and thrive in our inclusive, international community, a community which is supportive and nurturing, a community that respects and embraces cross-cultural communication where school is simply an extension of home.
Through exceptional pastoral care and a belief in the inherent potential of each and every child, River House staff and students continue to build caring relationships based on mutual respect, trust and empathy. Small class sizes allow teachers to really get to know our children, enabling us to meet their individual needs and thereby nurture happy, confident and compassionate young people.
It is my honest belief that children need to be given the freedom to explore and discover a world of wonder, to develop a deep love of their natural surroundings, their friends, their community and ultimately of themselves as global citizens. We promote confidence, effective communication and responsibility by giving students the tools to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of those around them. Ultimately, we hold open the gateways to a positive, exciting and successful future by providing a balance between world-class academic instruction and meaningful preparation for engaging with the wider world.
As Headteacher and founder of the school, I am extremely proud that this balance is a defining strength of River House Academy.
